We strongly believe that cost shouldn’t be a barrier to participation. We are committed to making football affordable for everyone and we have some of the lowest standard fees in Melbourne.

Once registrations open (early 2019, date TBC), they should be completed online via the National Online Registration System, MyFootballClub. The system will allow you to register and pay online via credit (preferred method), or you can use EFT or pay with cash.

Player fees

In addition to helping to cover club utilities, ground, uniform and equipment costs, fees include:

  • FFA and FFV Registration fees (includes insurance up to $2,000)
  • FFV team entry
  • Referee fees
  • Swifts FC club membership
  • 2 x pairs of playing socks in club colours

The club also provides quality coaching, facilities and support for our players. In order to do this while still keeping our fees at less than half that of some other clubs, we rely heavily on sponsorships, fundraising and volunteer support through the year. The club hopes that all members of the Swifts FC community will reach participate in some capacity during the year; whether through volunteering their time, purchasing tickets, or in any other way they can.

2019 fees are still being finalised. As a general indicator, 2018 fees were:

  • MiniRoos: $225 (discounts for more than one child)
  • Junior Leagues (U12–U18): $262
  • Womens State Leagues: $405 (with discounts for concession, over 35s and U18s)

Grants, subsidies and payment plans

The committee has budgeted to allow for a number of subsidised registration fees for players experiencing financial hardship. If you will have trouble paying the full fees and would like to apply for a subsidy, please email to request an application form.

Players aged between 5 and 18 years of age may also be eligible for an Active Maribyrnong Grant to assist with membership fees and other related costs.

Non-player memberships – $30

MSFC membership is open to anyone who wants to become part of our club – you don’t need to be a player. Membership entitles you to vote at General and Annual General Meetings, and gives you access to various club event discounts. It’s also a great way to show your support for the club.

International Transfer Clearance

An International Transfer Clearance (ITC) is required for every player aged 10 years or older who is playing for the first time and is not an Australian citizen, or whose last registration was overseas. This is a FIFA requirement to ensure players are not under contract or suspended, and is applicable even if the player is now an Australian citizen or if they have been registered in Australia or Victoria previously.

FFA will determine whether an ITC is required from you based on your registration details. If an ITC is required we will contact you to request further details and submit the application on your behalf.

An ITC can take up to 30 days to process, so please ensure you register earlier rather than later so you don’t miss out on any games.
